Face Sculpting: A Step by Step Guide from Maybelline New York

The first thing you need to know when starting sculpting makeup is that for each type of face there is a different version of the contouring technique. The techniques and rules used for a round face are not at all suitable for an oval shape. So before you pick up the Master Sculpt Sculpting Palette, check out our first tutorial. The official make-up artist of Maybelline New York in Russia, Yura Stolyarov, will tell you how to correctly determine your face shape. It’s very simple: stand in front of a mirror, after removing the hair from your forehead. Now carefully look at the face, studying its features and proportions.

1. Visually determine the distance from the hairline to the tip of the chin. If it is greater than the distance from the edge of the right cheek to the edge of the left cheek, you have an oval face shape.

2. If the distance from the hairline to the bottom of the chin is approximately equal to the distance from the edge of the right to the edge of the left cheek, you have a round or square face.

3. If the upper part of the face, namely the distance between the temples, is greater than the distance from the right to the left cheek, while you have a rather narrow chin, your face has the shape of a “heart”.

Now you know what your face shape is. It’s time to start trending makeup with the Maybelline New York Master Sculpt Sculpting Palette. Focus on the titles of the videos with lessons, choose your option and follow our step-by-step tips. Your reward will be a perfect facial contour, beautifully defined nose and lips, a radiant skin tone and a lasting effect.
