For a manicure for every day, it is better to choose calm natural tones and a moderate amount of shiny elements.
Now you can buy various shades of varnishes, which already include iridescent particles. Such a manicure can be “diluted” with a pattern of a darker matte shade. Although it is not necessary, a glossy varnish in itself looks advantageous.
You can use dry glitter or sand, which are sold in jars. They are applied on a transparent base layer or varnish that has not had time to dry.
There are four ways to apply dry glitter:
1. The brush is wetted in varnish, which will serve as the main color, or in a transparent base. Then the brush is lowered into a jar of sand or sparkles. We apply what happened to the entire nail or its individual sections. It already depends on the design you have in mind.
2. We apply the main varnish on the nails. We take a dry brush (preferably a fan brush), dip it into dry sparkles and shake them off onto the surface of the nail plate. The technique here is as follows: we don’t touch the nail with a brush, but hold it at a certain distance, lightly tap the handle of the brush with our index finger. In this case, glitter must be applied immediately, without waiting for the main varnish to dry, otherwise they simply will not stick.
3. This method is useful if the sparkles are not applied to the entire surface of the nail, but according to a strictly defined pattern. We draw the desired pattern on the nail. We apply special glue or transparent varnish along the lines of the drawing. In the manner described above, shake off the sparkles on the surface of the nail and blow off all the excess.
4. The easiest option. We apply glue or varnish on the nails and immerse the nail in a jar of sparkles. All excess can be brushed off with a brush. It is not desirable to blow off, so the sparkles will scatter in different directions. The brush will help you brush everything into the jar and save some amount of the product for further use.
For design, various shiny figures are also used, which are called glitters. Glitters often have a special coating that helps create a manicure with a volume effect. To apply such a decor on the nails, a special tool called dots is used.
It can be easily replaced with a toothpick, wooden stick or any other handy tool. We cover the nails with varnish of the selected shade and with the tip of the tool you use, we begin to transfer the decor elements to the nail plate.
As a rule, sequins or glitters are fixed with a layer of transparent varnish. This will extend the “fail-safe use” of your manicure.

Now it has become fashionable to decorate the cuticle area with sparkles, and cover the main part of the nail with a plain varnish. This design is referred to by some as the “reverse French manicure”.
